Mousie's 8th Birthday

Mousie celebrated her 8th birthday this week. She waited impatiently, with her toy dog Barney, behind the biggest of the birthday gifts on the table while HB and Dragon got dressed for the morning's big event - present opening!
Actually, Mousie had already received a birthday gift. Just the previous Monday evening (when we were still visiting Grandma, Nano and Grandpap in Port Stephens) Mousie was given this bag which contained a pretty pair of swarovski crystal earrings, an outfit for her Baby Emily baby born doll, a cute little mouse knick-knack for her collection, and a card containing a lot of money!
This was Mousie's favorite birthday card, from Nanna and Grandad. What little girl would dislike being compared to an angel? Not Mousie! Mousie had lots of fun opening her gifts. She received lots of books because she is my little bookworm. Frequently, when I check on the girls as they are playing, I can't see Mousie. The first few times this happened I began to run around looking for her. Now, I just look in the corner of the rumpus room - or on her bed - and find her engrossed in a book or two ten.

Mousie was also given a big toy mouse, which matches the little mouse she found in her Christmas stocking. She loved her new outfit (which she is wearing in some of the photos)and the Littlest Pet Shop vehicle which has a special place for each of the animals. A new lunch set to take to school, designer PJs and a whole set of Fairy Flower chapter books from Nanna, and more money for distant relatives finished off her gift opening.

We had our usual party morning tea of chips and lollies and the girls all had fun playing inside together with Mousie's new toys, and their other new toys from Christmas, as it was raining very heavily outside.

We had planned to take Mousie to Sea World for her birthday but the weather was too disagreeable. We intend to make the trip another day before school resumes. Mousie didn't seem to mind too much, and her alternative birthday outing was lunch at Hungry Jacks. Since we rarely buy fast food this was quite a treat for the girls, especially Mousie who was given one of the plastic pieces of junk toys because it was her birthday. And the fun they had playing on the genie playground outside was incredible!! (They had it all to themselves, possibly because of the wet weather.) Maybe it was even better than Sea World?
Mousie asked for pancakes for dinner .... plain pancakes with maple syrup topping. Easy! And her birthday cake was also made to order (by me). She wanted an old english toffee ice-cream cake with caramel ice-magic topping. It was very yummy!

Here is a collage of photos from Mousie's birthday.
Happy 8th birthday to our beautiful girl .... we love you!
